Museums
Inaugurated in 1903, the Bengal Natural
History Museum is one of the top attractions in Darjeeling and contains a
comprehensive collection of fauna specimens from the Himalayas. There are more
than 4000 here, including insects, reptiles, birds, fish and mammals. An
estuarine crocodile is also on display here, allowing visitors a glimpse of one
of the region’s most feared creatures.
