One of the top three tallest waterfalls in
Japan, Kegon Falls is found close to the shore of Lake Chuzenji and stands at
almost 100 meters. It was created when lava altered the course of a local
river. Visitors can climb up to an upper observation area, or catch an elevator
up to the lower deck at the base of the falls. The falls are particularly
popular in autumn, when the surrounding foliage takes on a spectrum of
colors.
