Located 250 kilometers southwest of Abu Dhabi, Sir Bani Yas is a natural island. The crossing point is from Jebel Dhanna a mere nine kilometers away. Extending over an area of 17.5 kilometers long and nine kilometers wide it is the largest natural island in the UAE. The majority of the island, more than 87 square kilometers, is home to thousands of large free roaming animals and several million plants and trees. There is a bird sanctuary as well as the wildlife reserve.
