Climate
Auckland experiences a warm, humid summer followed by mild, damp winters. In all, it has an oceanic climate and averages just over 2000 hours of sunshine hours each year. The warmest weather is in January and February with average afternoon highs of 23 degrees Celsius. The coolest conditions come in July with average highs between 14 and 15 degrees and average overnight temperatures of 7 degrees. The city sees plenty of rainfall throughout the year and averages 1240 millimeters of precipitation over an average of 137 days. Snow is very rare and has only occurred once. The driest month is February with 65 millimeters of rain and the wettest month is July with 146 millimeters of precipitation.
