A Nordic country in northern Europe, Norway
occupies the western part of the Scandinavian Peninsula as well as the arctic
archipelago of Bouvet and Svalbard. It is the second least populous country in
Europe. The weather in the lowlands around Oslo enjoy warm, sunny summers and
cold, snowy winters. From late May to late July the sun never descends below
the horizon in the Arctic north while the rest of the country has up to twenty
hours of daylight. The country enjoys a diverse range of flora and fauna
including Europe’s largest land mammal, the common moose.
