With an elongated shape, Mexico sees a wide
variety of weather conditions ranging from snow and ice to unbearable heat. The
cold California current on the western side of the nation to the warm waters of
the Caribbean and the influence of North American cyclones all play a role in
the country’s weather. The rainy season in Mexico occurs from May through
October. The remaining months are not completely dry, but just see a lot less
wet weather. The wettest part of Mexico is the area on the Caribbean coast
which receives between 1000 and 1500 millimeters a year. The western side of
the country sees much less rainfall, except for locations in the highest
mountains.
